How Kora Media and Advertising collects, uses, protects and shares personal information.

01

Who we are

Kora Media and Advertising (Pty) Ltd is an independent South African media and advertising company. For the personal information described in this policy, Kora Media and Advertising is the responsible party under the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).

02

Information we collect

When you submit a campaign brief, request a quotation, approve work or make a payment, we may collect your company name, contact name, email address, telephone number, business address, website, campaign objectives, budget, campaign dates, destination links, creative files and correspondence. We also keep operational records such as quotations, invoices, payment status, campaign placement and delivery reports. Basic technical and security information may be processed when you use the website.

03

How we use information

We use personal information to respond to enquiries, prepare proposals, provide creative and media services, manage approvals, issue quotations and invoices, administer payments, deliver campaigns, produce reports, communicate operational updates, maintain security, prevent misuse and comply with legal, accounting and regulatory duties. We do not sell personal information.

04

Lawful processing

Depending on the circumstances, processing is based on your consent, steps requested before entering a contract, performance of a contract, compliance with a legal duty or a legitimate business interest that does not unjustifiably interfere with your rights.

05

Sharing and service providers

We share information only where reasonably necessary. Recipients may include website and storage providers, email-delivery providers, payment providers, professional advisers and an approved media platform such as Kora Stream Africa when it is needed to deliver a booked campaign. Providers receive only the information required for their role and must protect it. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or to protect legal rights.

06

Cross-border processing

Some technology providers may process information outside South Africa. Where section 72 of POPIA applies, Kora Media and Advertising will use an appropriate legal basis and reasonable safeguards for the transfer.

07

Retention and security

Information is kept only for as long as it is needed for the purpose collected, an active business relationship, dispute resolution, or legal and accounting requirements. We use reasonable organisational and technical safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security. A security compromise will be handled in accordance with applicable law.

08

Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may ask whether we hold your personal information, request access, correction or deletion, object to processing, or withdraw consent where consent is the basis. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where the law permits or requires it.

09

Contact and complaints

Send privacy requests to the privacy contact shown on this page. You may also lodge a complaint with South Africa’s Information Regulator. We encourage you to contact Kora Media and Advertising first so we can try to resolve the concern promptly.
